Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Cincy – L 24-27

QB: Wilson another sub-par game as line is killing him.  This problem doesn’t look like it’s getting solved.  Will be fine at home but a risky start on the road.

RB: Lynch DNP.  Rawls a huge game and looked great.  Speed is almost elite and has great quickness.  Definitely worth owning even when Lynch comes back.

WR: Baldwin and Kearse nice games despite running game doing most of the work.  Same story continues, however: good players, bad fantasy situation.

TE: Graham did little again.  Just can’t be trusted and is getting zero work if they have a lead.  Streaming TEs might be a better option at this point as crazy as that sounds.

OL: Was great for run game and equally terrible for passing game.  Protection is such a weakness against teams with good fronts that the passing game needs to be downgraded for fantasy in those games.

Def: Elite at home, just another D on the road.  Didn’t do a great job against the run.  Blown away by passing game.  Maybe they get better but not benching WRs playing at home against.  Gave up monster to TE, decent games to WRs.

Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – vs Cleveland – L 30-33

QB: Flacco a good game because of rushing TDs.  Wasn’t great otherwise but is throwing to nothing but backups at the moment.  Probably the most depleted receiving corps in the league.  Only so much he can do.

RB: Forsett a huge game and did it both rushing and receiving.  Still a great player and quickness is extremely good.  Allen didn’t look particularly good other than breaking one big run.

WR: Smith DNP.  Aiken a nice game but not a ton of faith in him yet.  Capable of being a home run hitter but need to see better hands first.

TE: Nada.  Ignore until Gillmore gets back.

OL: Very good run blocking game.  Was really winning the battle up front and giving runners big holes.  Pass protection was solid.  Got overwhelmed on a few plays but was mostly holding their own.

Def: Okay against the run but not dominant.  Torched through the air again.  Pass rush was decent but it didn’t matter.  They can’t cover anything.  Gave up huge game to TE, decent games to everyone else who could catch a pass.

Cleveland Browns Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Baltimore – W 33-30

QB: McCown another huge game and is playing incredibly well right now.  Hitting receivers with great throws and they’re coming through.  Looks like a good play with the right match up.

RB: Crowell and Johnson decent games with Crowell getting a receiving TD but Johnson doing more receiving damage.  Both are good but are hard to trust for fantasy as long as the other is around.  Crowell should continue getting more carries.

WR: Benjamin a nice game and keeps making good plays.  Ride it while it lasts.  Gabriel and Hawkins decent games as well.  Hard to tell them apart on the field.  They do give this team a ton of dangerous weapons.

TE: Barnidge another huge game and making great catches.  The huge games won’t be sustained but he could be a borderline top 10 TE.  Not a bad option for now.

OL: Played pretty well against tough match up.  Did okay job for run game but wasn’t great.  Protected pretty well but a few mistakes were made.  Not a bad unit at all and could be a strength if they progress a little.

Def: Got run on at will.  Just can’t stop the better run games.  Good against the pass in this one but came against a lot of back ups.  Gave up huge game to RB.  Decent game to #1 WR.

Tennessee Titans Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – vs Buffalo – L 13-14

QB: Mariota a bad game despite decent rushing numbers.  Held in check by great pass rush.  Receivers weren’t doing him any favors.  Will get better but not against a D like this.

RB: Sankey and Andrews split carries and receptions.  Roughly equal numbers with Andrews getting a goal line TD.  Probably will continue like this as they are pretty similar in talent with Sankey only slightly better.

WR: Everything was contained by D.  Wright and Hunter below average games in tough match up.  Not totally their fault as the rookie QB will struggle with elite Ds.

TE: Walker did little and it’s same story as WRs.

OL: Not great in any way here.  Couldn’t handle blitz or open holes for run game.  Just outmatched in this one.

Def: Played pretty well other than being unable to contain scrambling QB.  D looks much better overall than last season and might be a little more scary for fantasy.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Tennessee – W 14-13

QB: Lost TOP pretty bad and didn’t run many plays.  Taylor a good game but did a ton of damage running.  Got dinged but stayed in and toughed it out.  Just a dangerous player in both good and bad ways.

RB: McCoy and Williams DNP.  Herron got the most work but did little.  No catches and that is the only thing appealing about him for fantasy.  I would ignore for now.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Hogan a long TD and little else from him or anyone.  Didn’t really like the situation or the receiving corps coming into the season.  Hate it right now.  Wouldn’t touch.

TE: Clay one catch.  Could be okay but an ugly game for everyone here.

OL: Wasn’t great run blocking for backup runners.  Probably looked a little worse because of the injuries.  Pass protection wasn’t great either.  Had QB running a ton and still getting hit plenty.  Rough game.

Def: Solid against a struggling run game.  Scrambling QB did the bulk of the damage.  Shutdown passing game as well.  Pass rush was pretty solid.  Gave up no good games.
