Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ Jacksonville (London) – L 31-34

QB: Manuel terrible early and late.  A few good throws in the middle but the bad outweighed the good by far.  Horribly inaccurate and hit the opposing team in the chest more than once.  Awful pocket presence.

RB: McCoy looked great but numbers weren’t big.  O line missed a lot of blocks that failed to get him to the second level.  Could have been a monster game otherwise.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Woods a big game making a great TD grab.  Played tough and would be a stud if he played this well every week.  Hogan another nice PPR game.  Not a bad option if a starter is hurt.

TE: Clay held in check and didn’t get many looks.  QB play hurt and should be fine once Taylor is healthy.

OL: Not great and QB play made them look even worse.  Missed a lot of blocks in run game.  Pass blocking was average, at best.

Def: Trampled by the run.  Was getting blown off the line at times and lost the battle in the trenches badly.  QB play helped make passing game look good.  Still couldn’t stop good WRs.  Gave up big games to RB and WRs.  Held TEs to nearly nothing.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Tennessee – W 14-13

QB: Lost TOP pretty bad and didn’t run many plays.  Taylor a good game but did a ton of damage running.  Got dinged but stayed in and toughed it out.  Just a dangerous player in both good and bad ways.

RB: McCoy and Williams DNP.  Herron got the most work but did little.  No catches and that is the only thing appealing about him for fantasy.  I would ignore for now.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Hogan a long TD and little else from him or anyone.  Didn’t really like the situation or the receiving corps coming into the season.  Hate it right now.  Wouldn’t touch.

TE: Clay one catch.  Could be okay but an ugly game for everyone here.

OL: Wasn’t great run blocking for backup runners.  Probably looked a little worse because of the injuries.  Pass protection wasn’t great either.  Had QB running a ton and still getting hit plenty.  Rough game.

Def: Solid against a struggling run game.  Scrambling QB did the bulk of the damage.  Shutdown passing game as well.  Pass rush was pretty solid.  Gave up no good games.

Buffalo Bills Week 14 Fantasy Analysis

Week 14 – @ Denver – L 17-24

QB: Orton a good fantasy game but some really bad plays mixed in.  Accuracy was decent but not great.

RB: Deficit limited runs.  Jackson a big PPR game but only decent yards.  Just not enough speed anymore.

WR: Watkins and Hogan big games and Watkins looked especially good making some nice catches.  Woods did little but came up a foot short of a TD.  Was covered well and drowned-out by other receiving options.

TE: Chandler a good game and would be a reliable option if he got this many looks every week.  Has the hands but not much else.

OL: Good blocking on the limited runs.  Pretty good against the pass rush but QB held the ball and took some hits.  Not the line’s fault.

Def: Held elite passing game in check.  Got hit with one big run but was solid, yardage-wise.  Gave up monster game to RB (3 TDs) and decent games to #2 and #3 WRs.  Held rest to little.

Buffalo Bills Week 13 Fantasy Analysis

Week 13 – vs Cleveland – W 26-10

QB: Orton played badly for the most part.  Receivers made him look better again.  Wouldn’t be shocked to see Manuel again soon.

RB: Jackson got the bulk of the work and had good game with receiving added.  Ran well but still lacks game-breaking speed.  A little TD-dependent for fantasy purposes.

WR: Watkins did little again with tough match up.  Woods a decent game and made some great plays again.  Really looking great right now.  Hogan a TD but little else.  Would have expected more throws to him.

TE: Chandler did little.  Gray looked very good and might be the more explosive player.  Wouldn’t be surprised to see him getting more touches now.

OL: Decent game all-around.  Wasn’t dominating but wasn’t bad.  Skill players need to be better.

Def: Stout against the run again.  Helped by horrible QB play.  Gave up good games to WRs.  Held everything else in check.

Buffalo Bills Week 11 Fantasy Analysis

Week 11 – @ Miami – L 9-22

QB: Orton was rushed and didn’t look great.  Bad fantasy game here.  As expected, struggled on the road against a tough D.

RB: Dixon got the most carries but did little.  Brown had nice PPR game.  Tough match up and they weren’t able to do much.  Brown does have some nice flashes but isn’t consistent.

WR: Hogan another good game leading the team in receiving.  Doesn’t possess a ton of obvious talent but starting to look very consistent and is similar to Hartline.  Watkins and Woods did little although QB missed a sure TD to Watkins on an overthrow.

TE: Nothing from Chandler.  Ignore.

OL: Struggled all game against tough D.  Couldn’t get anything going on the ground and got QB rushed all game.

Def: Had a decent pass rush but bad performance otherwise.  Wasn’t good against the run and got thrown on for plenty.  Gave up good games to virtually every position.  Really struggled with WRs except the #1.

Buffalo Bills Week 10 Fantasy Analysis

Week 10 – vs KC – L 13-17

QB: Orton an okay fantasy game but made a lot of bad throws.  Should have been a better game but he just didn’t play well.

RB: A mess in this one.  Dixon, Brown, and Jackson all split carries.  Jackson wasn’t healthy.  All had moments where they looked good although Brown lost a fumble on a sure TD.  Have to wait and see after Jackson is healthy.

WR: Hogan a big game getting a TD.  Watkins was injured and did little.  Woods had decent game as he got a lot of looks and mostly looked good.  Hogan could be a good possession guy but have to wait and see him more.

TE: Chandler did little.  Again, completely TD-dependent.

OL: Played fairly well against tough line.  Was opening holes for running game and did a okay job pass blocking although QB had to throw a few quick ones away.

Def: Front seven was great and pass rush looked elite in this one.  Hit QB a ton and gave him little time.  Got burned by a couple misdirection runs but was strong otherwise.  Gave up good games to RB and #1 WR.  Held everything else to little.

Buffalo Bills Week 7 Fantasy Analysis

Week 7 – vs Minnesota – W 17-16

QB: Orton a pretty strong game.  Got hit quite a bit but hung in and made some really good throws.  Most were short with a handful of intermediate stuff.  Had receivers make great plays on a couple longer completions.

RB: Jackson hurt and out a while.  Spiller hurt and on IR.  Dixon got the bulk of the work and looked okay.  More power but less speed than the others here.  Did catch some balls.

WR: Watkins an absolute monster in this game.  D couldn’t cover him at all.  Looking like a stud when he plays like this.  Hogan outperformed Woods and made a huge catch to help win the game.  Might be a better possession guy but have to wait and see.

TE: Chandler did little.  Still no reason to trust in fantasy.

OL: Shaky.  Run blocking was average and pass blocking not very good.  Got QB sacked quite a bit but survived.

Def: Bad QB play helped here.  Good pass rush and inaccuracy helped keep passing in check.  Got gashed by the run, especially outside runs.  Gave up good games to RB and WRs.  Held bad TEs to nothing.

Buffalo Bills Week 6 Fantasy Analysis

Week 6 – vs New England – L 22-37

QB: Orton had good fantasy game but some really bad throws.  Also, held the ball too long and took a bunch of unnecessary hits/sacks.

RB: Jackson a decent game because of goal line TD.  Spiller played bad, lost a fumble, and had fewer touches than Dixon, who didn’t do much better.  Line gave little room.

WR: Watkins was covered by Revis and did little.  Woods and Hogan had big games and looked very good here.  Hogan now #3 for this team.

TE: Chandler had big game, leading team in yards.  Will have these games but will always be a gamble since the consistency is not there.

OL: Not great, particularly run blocking.  Opened up very little for runners.  Pass blocking was better than numbers indicate.  Sacks were more on QB.

Def: Stopped the run completely.  Got torched through the air by WRs and TEs.  Pass rush did get to QB some but not enough to help DBs stop the attack.
