Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – vs Cincy – L 24-28

QB: Flacco a big game as run game was shut down.  Would be a consistent stud if he had better/healthy targets to throw to.  Accuracy is still great and deep passes are still as good as anyone in the league.

RB: Forsett held to very little against tough D as line did zero for him.  Starting to look like the loss of Kubiak is going to kill his numbers.  Would be selling if I owned.

WR: Smith a monster game and looks like he’s ten years younger.  He had a great start last season as well so a slow down might be coming.  Another sell high, in my opinion.  No clear #2 WR at the moment.

TE: Gillmore an okay game and still looks like he could produce big.  Believing in him for now.

OL: Awful for ground game but was solid in pass protection.  Have to be very concerned about run blocking.

Def: Run D was decent.  Obliterated through the air.  Can’t cover.  I’d start any WR against.  Did shut out TE.  Gave up monster game to #1 WR and big game to #2.

Houston Texans Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – vs TB – W 19-9

QB: Mallett an average game as run game dominated.  A few drops hurt but not devastating.  Looked pretty good throwing it.  Accuracy was pretty good most of the way.

RB: Blue a huge game and showed great vision and good patience.  Ran his best in this one.  Grimes the better PPR game again.

WR: Hopkins a big game and continues to look phenomenal.  Will undoubtedly be drafted as a #1 WR next season.  He’s just too good.  Shorts the better game than Washington.  Appears to be the #2 at this point and could be usable in right match ups.

TE: Nada.  Forget it.

OL: Strong game, especially for run game.  Protection was solid as well.  Starting to look like a pretty good unit.

Def: Fairly strong game.  Helped by some key drops and a little luck.  Looked decent against the run.  Pass rush was not as good as expected.  Gave up good game to #1 WR.  Held rest mostly in check.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – @ Houston – L 9-19

QB: Winston an average game but could have been far better if not for dropped passes.  Was certainly better than numbers suggested.  Handled tough pass rush fairly well.

RB: Martin a below average game as line did little for him.  Sims busted one pass for a TD but did little else.  Martin is still the better player and shouldn’t lose the job.

WR: Evans a good game despite some dropped passes and not being on the same page as QB.  Should get better with more time with QB.  Jackson below average but was getting one foot down away from a TD.  Still looks great.

TE: Seferian-Jenkins out a while.  Myers did little.  Wouldn’t trust but he’ll get a couple TDs before starter returns.

OL: Decent job against tough D front.  Protected reasonably well.  Wasn’t great for run game.  Just couldn’t get runners to second level.

Def: All kinds of bad again.  Pounded by run game.  Not much of a pass rush.  Coverage wasn’t great.  Was lucky they weren’t playing a better O.  Gave up huge games to RB and #1 WR.

Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – @ Baltimore – W 28-24

QB: Dalton a huge game and looks fantastic with his weapons healthy.  Is making great throws and allowing his guys to make plays.  Could easily finish as a top 5 QB if his targets stay on the field.

RB: Hill did little despite looking very good early against a tough D.  He should be okay.  Bernard a decent game and continues to be far better than people think as a runner.  Just great vision, speed, and elusiveness.

WR: Green a monster game and made some really great plays.  The other pass-catchers being healthy takes a lot of pressure off of him.  Jones another big game.  Don’t know why he isn’t considered as a better fantasy option.  A mid-to-low end #2 at the very least, in my opinion.

TE: Eifert held to zero but will be fine.  It will happen as other players have huge games.  He’ll get his numbers more weeks than not.

OL: Looking pretty good.  Pass protection was very strong.  Run blocking was hit and miss but the match up wasn’t easy.  They weren’t terrible.

Def: Run D was crazy good and held runners to almost zero.  Torched through the air.  Wasn’t covering as well as they have been.  Gave up monster game to #1 WR, nothing else.

Tennessee Titans Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – vs Indianapolis – L 33-35

QB: Mariota a pretty good game and is starting to look more comfortable.  Making good throws but suffering from drops on some occasions.  Looks trust-able in fantasy when match up is good.

RB: Andrews a nice game but just looks like a more powerful but less shifty version of Sankey, who was average in this one.  Looks like a committee now and will be impossible to use for the near future in fantasy.

WR: Wright a big game and looked good in what appeared to be a bad match up.  Looks so good at times but just doesn’t seem to have the elite speed that would make him a superstar.  Baffled right now as to who the #2 on this team is.

TE: Walker a nice game and continues to look much better than he gets credit for.  QB is having no trouble finding him when needed.

OL: Held up nicely against questionable D.  Wasn’t great for run game but was giving a little space.  Very good in protection.

Def: Pass rush was pretty strong in this one but faded a little.  Was not good up front against the run.  Need to get better at the point of attack on run plays.  Gave up huge game to RB.  Good games to WRs.

Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – @ Tennessee – W 35-33

QB: Luck was okay but accuracy was an issue.  Made throws when it counted, however.  Was rushed quite a bit as well.

RB: Gore a huge game and looked great as line was strong.  Still runs so well and plays smart.  Does a great job avoiding big hits to keep himself on the field.

WR: Hilton, Dorsett, and Moncrief all good games although Dorsett got away with OPI on his TD.  All looked good but Hilton is still the stud.  Not sure if Dorsett overtakes Moncrief for the number 2 spot this season.

TE: Allen DNP.  Fleener another decent game in his absence.  Continues to be a good play by himself.

OL: Pretty nice game on the ground but a little shaky in pass protection.  Got QB hit a little too much here.

Def: Still not good anywhere.  Would continue starting everything against.  Gave up good games all around.

Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – @ NE – L 17-51

QB: Bortles decent numbers but the inaccuracy is still there.  Doesn’t miss by a ton but enough to be uncatchable balls for receivers.  Even the great athletes he has can’t make those plays.

RB: Blowout limited runs.  Yeldon still looks really good.  Expected better numbers but nothing he could do about score.  I’d probably buy low on him at this point.

WR: Robinson and Hurns pretty good games although Robinson’s should have been better.  Have to buy into both of these guys as legitimate plays each week.  Both are too good to sit anymore.

TE: Harbor got a nice TD grab but nothing to pay much attention to.

OL: Okay game but a little disappointed by run blocking.  Should have been much better against this D.

Def: Score says it all.  Couldn’t cover anything in passing game.  Little to no pass rush.  Was okay against the run but wore down as game went on and Blount pounded them.  Gave up a ton of good games, especially to WRs.

New England Patriots Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – vs Jacksonville – W 51-17

QB: Brady just awesome again.  Him and Rodgers look simply unstoppable right now.  Just so much better than everyone else.

RB: Blount a monster game as it was out of hand quick.  Lewis still a good game despite fewer touches.  Will probably be like this in blowout games.

WR: Edelman and Amendola good games and nothing much changes with them.  Very interesting to see Martin in the mix.  Could very easily become the #2 on this team and be a great add.  Good game here getting a TD and must keep an eye on him going forward.  Loved him in Houston.

TE: Gronk another good game.  He may end up with better fantasy numbers than all WRs.

OL: Really strong all around.  Wasn’t blowing the defense away but wasn’t doing anything wrong either.  Very few mistakes on their part.  Good sign.

Def: Helped a bit by inaccurate QB.  Could have given up a lot more.  Solid but not great against limited runs.  Burned a bit by the passing game.  Didn’t look as good as score indicates.  Gave up good games to WRs and TE.

New York Giants Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – vs Washington – W 32-21

QB: Manning a nice game and had easy time against terrible passing D.  A good start with match ups like this, as usual.

RB: Three headed monster.  Touches were split but no one was great against tough D.  Williams got the TD but he just isn’t that good.  Jennings and Vereen are the players that could be monsters if injuries get them more touches.

WR: Randle a huge game and Beckham a good game as well.  Not surprising considering opponent.  Both will be viable in match ups like this.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Randle stays the #2 once Cruz gets healthy.

TE: Fells and Donnell split touches.  They’re only usable if the match up is good and one is injured.  Can’t really fully trust otherwise.

OL: Solid game against pretty good front.  Didn’t do a ton for run game but protected well.  Just not good enough to handle better D fronts.

Def: Okay game against average O.  They’re making plays but the talent isn’t great.  Contained fairly well.  Other than junk time, only gave up good game to TE.  Held rest to relatively little.

Washington NFL Team Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 3

Week 3 – @NYG – L 21-32

QB: Cousins okay playing from behind in blowout but still makes terrible throws.  Can’t see him being usable, probably ever.

RB: Jones got more work than Morris again but neither did much because of score.  Jones looks like he’s taking over and his power should make him pretty good.  Just still a gamble as to what the split on carries will be.  Thompson a great receiving game but it pretty much all came in garbage time.

WR: Jackson DNP.  Garcon a decent game and still looks good enough to remain a nice PPR play.  Could be a stud in right match up where team can’t run against a D.

TE: Reed a good game and looked great again.  Is getting the ball with some room to run and is looking like a stud.  Not sure why people doubted him so much in the preseason fantasy period.  He’s just too good.

OL: Has their problems as usual but isn’t terrible.  Could really develop into a nice run blocking unit in time.  Makes RBs a little more enticing.

Def: Stronger against the run than the pass as usual.  WRs should never be benched against this team.  Pass rush wasn’t terrible but still not good enough to mask DB problems.  Gave up big games to both WRs.
