Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Tennessee – W 14-13

QB: Lost TOP pretty bad and didn’t run many plays.  Taylor a good game but did a ton of damage running.  Got dinged but stayed in and toughed it out.  Just a dangerous player in both good and bad ways.

RB: McCoy and Williams DNP.  Herron got the most work but did little.  No catches and that is the only thing appealing about him for fantasy.  I would ignore for now.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Hogan a long TD and little else from him or anyone.  Didn’t really like the situation or the receiving corps coming into the season.  Hate it right now.  Wouldn’t touch.

TE: Clay one catch.  Could be okay but an ugly game for everyone here.

OL: Wasn’t great run blocking for backup runners.  Probably looked a little worse because of the injuries.  Pass protection wasn’t great either.  Had QB running a ton and still getting hit plenty.  Rough game.

Def: Solid against a struggling run game.  Scrambling QB did the bulk of the damage.  Shutdown passing game as well.  Pass rush was pretty solid.  Gave up no good games.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 4

Week 4 – vs NYG – L 10-24

QB: Taylor an okay game but looked pretty rattled at times, especially late.  Was scrambling quite a bit and wasn’t able to handle the constant pressure.

RB: McCoy DNP.  Williams a good game because of a receiving TD but wasn’t able to find much room.  Still looked good running it but there just weren’t any holes in this one.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Harvin and Woods did little.  Just weren’t able to make any plays versus the D.  Were covered well all game.

TE: Clay a good game despite having a TD nullified by a penalty.  Looks great right now but match ups have been favorable.  Worth using but not sure he’ll do it against tougher TE Ds.

OL: Pretty bad in this one.  Did nearly nothing for run game and had QB scrambling a lot.  A little concerning how bad they were.

Def: Not great in this one.  Wasn’t really stopping the run.  Mostly contained passing game but still hit for plenty.  Pass rush wasn’t effective.  Gave up good games to RB and #2 and #3 WR.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 2

Week 2 – vs NE – L 32-40

QB: Taylor a big fantasy game but definitely some problems in this one.  Some bad throws and got sacked a ton.  Does protect himself fairly well on runs but has a long way to go right now, development-wise.

RB: McCoy looked good while Williams snagged another TD.  McCoy will continue to be workhorse but Williams is really interesting.  Has the size and speed to be a stud runner.  Might be one of the best handcuffs in the league.

WR: Watkins and Woods good games while Harvin was average.  Plenty of talent here but it’s going to be difficult to predict who will be the stud every week.  Add in to that a young and inexperienced QB and this is a headache.

TE: Clay nabbed a TD and will produce occasionally like this.  I wouldn’t expect any consistency.

OL: Good run blocking against weak run D.  Terrible pass protection.  Part of that is on young QB but they certainly had trouble with the blitz.

Def: Solid against the run but annihilated by passing game.  This will probably be most games for them against teams that can handle blitz.  Gave up monster games to receiving RB, TE, and #1 WR.  Good game to #2 WR.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 1

Week 1 – vs Indy – W 27-14

QB: Taylor was pretty good against weak D but didn’t have to do much.  Ran well and mostly protected himself.  Have to see how he handles more pressure before I’d buy into it.

RB: McCoy looked okay but line let him down at times.  Numbers suffered a bit because of that and running late with a big lead when D knows it’s coming.  Williams looked strong and got the longish TD.  Looks like a pretty powerful runner that knows how to find holes.

WR: Watkins blanketed by Davis and got zero.  Harvin a good game getting a nice long TD where he beat D deep and made great grab.  Hard to trust but might be more consistent in this situation.

TE: Clay looked okay but not going to put up enough numbers to warrant starting most of the time.  A solid player but not good enough for fantasy most of the time.

OL: Pretty good against weak D.  Missed some guys occasionally but will work that out as the season goes on.  Solid all-around in this one.

Def: A ton of blitzing and looked good doing it.  Brought 6 so many times.  Might be a little more susceptible to run this season but better against the pass.  Held elite O mostly in check.
