Seattle Seahawks

2015

Week 1 – @ St. Louis – L 31-34

QB: Wilson was on the run and got hit all game.  Looked okay considering pressure and shouldn’t see that kind of defense from just about every other team.

RB: Lynch couldn’t break much against tough D.  Same story as Wilson.  Will be fine against other teams.

WR: Kearse led the way numbers-wise and had a nice game.  Still believe he would be a #2 fantasy receiver in a different situation.  Baldwin average.  Lockett a nice PR TD and a few catches early but nothing to get overly excited about.  Have to see a lot more.

TE: Graham a good game with the TD and looked like he needs some more time to get used to new team.  Might struggle before really taking off.

OL: Couldn’t stop what is probably the best D line in the league.  Hopefully, will be better in the weeks to come against lesser teams.  Have to wait and see.

Def: Was okay but not as stout as usual.  Run D didn’t look elite.  Pass rush wasn’t overly impressive.  Gave up good games to TE and receiving RB.

Week 2 – @ GB – L 17-27

QB: Wilson a nice game with good rushing numbers.  Had some trouble with pass rush but not direly bad.  Have to be a little concerned there.

RB: Lynch an average game and wasn’t breaking many tackles in this one.  Needs better line play as well.

WR: Baldwin a big game, having another one where he looks so good.  Just can’t stay consistent.  Kearse disappeared and Lockett did little.  Just a bad game for everyone except Baldwin.

TE: Graham only one catch.  Just can’t happen.  He’s too good.  Have to temper expectations a tiny bit until they start featuring him a little more like they should.

OL: Not great again.  Just not doing a ton for running game and getting QB rushed far too easily.  Have to hope they start pulling it together.

Def: Another bad game against an elite O.  Wasn’t stopping the run and wasn’t covering well.  Pass rush was not good either.  Starting to not be scared of this unit, especially on the road.  Gave up good games to RB, #1 WR, and TE.

Week 3 – vs Chicago – W 26-0

QB: Wilson an okay game but is taking a lot of hits behind bad O line.  Has to do better limiting that.  Receivers aren’t helping him a ton either.

RB: Lynch injured.  Rawls a good game in relief.  Looks fast but tries to run with power and doesn’t look big enough.  Wouldn’t trust him until he does it against a much better run D.

WR: Kearse a nice game and showed his flash again.  I’m sure he’ll disappear again for a week or two.  Baldwin got little and just isn’t doing enough to even consider owning.  Seems like a fantasy waste to me.

TE: Graham a good game and the QB apparently realized he was on the field.  Why he isn’t getting 10 targets minimum every game is baffling.

OL: Mostly bad.  Looked good on some run plays but having a lot of trouble protecting.  QB causes it occasionally but a lot of the problems are with the line.

Def: Virtually lights out.  Gave up some runs early but shut it out by the second quarter.  Nearly blanked passing game.  Gave up no good games.

Week 4 – vs Detroit – W 13-10

QB: Wilson sacked and hit a ton in this one.  O line problems continue.  Numbers weren’t bad but he isn’t going to stay healthy at this rate.  Have to hope they get this corrected soon.

RB: Lynch DNP.  Rawls mostly held in check.  Is quick but a bit smallish.  Could probably handle being the main guy but might still be susceptible to an injury from a big hit.

WR: Kearse a nice game on only two catches.  Baldwin got a TD but little else.  Good players but the situation is still too erratic for fantasy purposes.

TE: Graham did little and has to be moved down quite a bit at this point.  It was a bad situation getting traded to this team but it looks even worse than I imagined.  He might finish in the bottom 10 at TE.

OL: Ugly and is beginning to be too big a weakness for this team.  Does nothing well and the skill players are paying for it.  Wouldn’t trust this team at all on the road because of how bad this line will be.

Def: Strong at home, as usual.  Look elite at home and very average on the road.  Gave up no good games in this one.

Week 5 – @ Cincy – L 24-27

QB: Wilson another sub-par game as line is killing him.  This problem doesn’t look like it’s getting solved.  Will be fine at home but a risky start on the road.

RB: Lynch DNP.  Rawls a huge game and looked great.  Speed is almost elite and has great quickness.  Definitely worth owning even when Lynch comes back.

WR: Baldwin and Kearse nice games despite running game doing most of the work.  Same story continues, however: good players, bad fantasy situation.

TE: Graham did little again.  Just can’t be trusted and is getting zero work if they have a lead.  Streaming TEs might be a better option at this point as crazy as that sounds.

OL: Was great for run game and equally terrible for passing game.  Protection is such a weakness against teams with good fronts that the passing game needs to be downgraded for fantasy in those games.

Def: Elite at home, just another D on the road.  Didn’t do a great job against the run.  Blown away by passing game.  Maybe they get better but not benching WRs playing at home against.  Gave up monster to TE, decent games to WRs.

Week 6 – vs Carolina – L 23-27

QB: Wilson an okay game but line continues keeping him on the run.  He’s a good QB but not good enough to be scrambling on every snap.  Going to be an erratic fantasy season rest of the way, in all likelihood.

RB: Lynch a good game because of TD but held in check otherwise.  Line also hurting him.  He’s good enough to get his numbers most weeks but it will take its toll on him.

WR: Continues to be a mess.  Lockette a long TD but little else from entire squad.  All are desperation plays and nothing more.

TE: Graham a big game but no TD.  Looks good when he is involved but hard to predict when that happens.  Is basically a desperation play at this point.  Relegated to a streaming option, in my opinion.

OL: Awful.  Doing nothing well and seems to be the way it’s going to be all season.  Makes the fantasy options on this team nearly irrelevant unless they play better.

Def: Wasn’t really stopping the run.  Didn’t handle scrambling QB well.  Good job on bad WR corps.  Decent pass rush at times but not consistent enough.  Gave up good games to RB and TE.

Week 7 – @ SF – W 20-3

QB: Wilson another bad game and line continues killing him.  He’ll be way out of the top 10 at the end of season if they don’t make some drastic changes.

RB: Lynch a huge game dominating weak D.  Looked as good as ever but the match up was good.  Have to temper expectations against tougher Ds.

WR: Lockett a big game and Kearse decent but no clearer picture of who is worth playing here.  Will be a gamble every week.

TE: Graham did little and, again, should be considered as a streaming option at this point.  Drop him if you have to.

OL: Did okay for run game but match up was friendly.  Killing passing game.  Can’t trust anyone until they get better.

Def: Stout against struggling O.  Not much to glean from this game.  They shut down everything but it was an easy match up.

2014

Week 1 – vs GB – W 36-16

QB: Wilson looked good and running game made it easy.  TDs came on plays where D guesses run and receiver was wide open.  Mostly short throws.  Longer throws weren’t very good but weren’t needed.

RB: Lynch was a monster.  Broke more tackles in this game then some guys will break all season.  Might get held a little more in check by more physical Ds.  Turbin fast but went down as soon as he was touched.  (Michael DNP)

WR: Harvin good PPR and got carries, both going in motion and lining up in the backfield.  Looks like team will continue that use.  Baldwin looked okay on his few catches.  Lockette got easy TD on play action where D bit hard.  Nothing to get excited about, yet.

TE: Miller looked very good but only three catches.  Have to believe he’ll get some red zone love during the season.  Might finish a lot higher than people expect.

OL: Handled outside rush very well.  Nothing got through up the middle.  Lynch may have made their run blocking look better than it actually is.

Def: Sherman shut down who he covered but bounced between Cobb and Nelson so both had decent games (should be noted when they play a team like Arizona with two stud WRs).  D line looked decent against the run, terrible against the pass.  Nearly never rushed Rodgers all game.  Might be able to run up the middle on them, maybe.

Week 2 – @ SD – L 21-30

QB: Wilson was pressured a ton and didn’t handle it well.  Threw a ton of balls away and took some hits.  When he had time, was making really good throws and completing passes in coverage.

RB: Lynch only 6 carries.  Ran hard but deficit cost him.  He and Turbin caught TDs in the red zone.  Nice game receiving for Lynch.

WR: Harvin ran in a TD that was a blown call.  Would have been a bad game otherwise.  Baldwin decent.  Kearse looked really good.  If this was a passing offense, he would be worth owning and possibly starting soon.

TE: Miller only one catch early.  He’s good but just isn’t going to produce consistently.

OL: Run blocking on limited carries was good.  Didn’t handle pass rush.  QB was scrambling and getting hit a lot.

Def: Got hit in the mouth in this game.  O-line was dominating.  Couldn’t get to Rivers up the middle.  Coverage was a little suspect.  Guys were close but not making plays.

Week 3 – vs Denver – W 26-20

QB: Wilson was strong.  Scrambled pretty well against good pass rush.  Made some good throws, especially long TD to Lockette.

RB: Lynch had monster game with receiving included.  Just never seems to get tired despite running style.

WR: Harvin and Baldwin decent PPR games but no TDs.  Lockette made good, long TD catch off great throw.  More the throw than him on this one.  Think Kearse is still the backup to get if injury happens.

TE: Miller did little.  Can’t be trusted but will have a good game soon, I would guess, as he becomes forgotten.

OL: Still doesn’t look great.  Okay on run blocking this game but not great against pass rush again.  Think this is their big weakness, especially on the road.

Def: Elite against the run in this one.  Gave up a lot to WRs and 2 TDs to TEs despite holding them in check, otherwise.

Week 4 – Bye

Week 5 – @ Washington – W 27-17

QB: Unbelievable game for Wilson getting over 100 yards rushing to go along with passing.  Wasn’t spied early and abused the D for it.

RB: Lynch had huge game actually catching a TD pass.  Just an absolute stud right now in fantasy.

WR: Baldwin a decent game.  Kearse made one catch for a TD.  Harvin did little but had 3 TDs called back on penalties.  Just a gamble trusting these guys at times.

TE: Willson looked okay but didn’t do a lot.  Have to see him be more involved than this.

OL: Really strong outing.  Had QB scrambling a bit early but it was fine.  Did have great run blocking.

Def: Run D was stout again.  Held Garcon to little but gave up monster game to Jackson.  TEs got nearly nothing.

Week 6 – vs Dallas – L 23-30

QB: Wilson did little here but did get rushing TD.  TOP killed this entire O.

RB: Lynch looked great but only 10 carries.  Baffling as score was close enough for them to continue running the ball.

WR: Kearse had best game here despite at least one bad drop.  Continue to think if he was in passing offense he would be a good fantasy player.  Baldwin did little and Harvin had negative total yards.

TE: Willson did little but he is the starter.  Should be ignored for now unless grand change comes for this O.

OL: Good game but can’t block if they aren’t on the field.  Still a strong unit.

Def: Gave up decent games through the air to QB and WRs and 2 TDs to TEs.  Got gashed by run game as O-line dominated.  Gave up monster to Murray.

Week 7 – @ St. Louis – L 26-28

QB: Wilson amazing again with another 100+ yard rushing game.  Have to believe he’ll get spied more at this point.  Is throwing really well right now.

RB: Lynch bottled up on the ground but was getting a lot of snaps at WR.  Continues to be a better receiver than expected.

WR: Harvin traded.  Baldwin a huge game.  A stud this game and might be a strong play every week without Harvin.  Kearse okay and got an uncatchable throw in the end zone.  Should be solid from here on.

TE: Helfet a good game making a great TD catch.  Still can’t trust the TE position on this team in fantasy.

OL: Not great here.  Had QB running a lot and didn’t open up much on the ground.  Shaky game.

Def: Gave up big games to RBs.  Held everything else to nearly nothing.  Pretty good game despite the loss.  Pass rush wasn’t great.

Week 8 – @ Carolina – W 13-9

QB: Wilson contained by D-line pretty well in this one.  A decent game but couldn’t get a big play on anything.

RB: Lynch mostly contained.  If not for one play, would have been a disaster.  Line just wasn’t doing much for him.

WR: Baldwin a solid game, especially for PPR.  Kearse looked no better than Richardson or Lockette.  Probably still the #2 but a little muddled at the moment.

TE: Willson caught one ball for a TD.  Helfet should have had TD.  Still can’t really use these guys as they just aren’t a big enough part of the offense.

OL: Looked awful all-around.  Got dominated by the D-line.  Would have gotten a slow QB killed.

Def: Strong pass rush disrupted passing game the whole way.  Did give up good game to #1 WR but only because of elite talent.  Got run on by average RB.  Was getting beat by O-line on the rushes.

Week 9 – vs Oakland – W 30-24

QB: Wilson struggled as coverage was great and pass rush had him scrambling a bit.  Was mostly contained on the ground as well.  Disappointing fantasy game considering opponent.

RB: Lynch had monster game, especially with receiving tacked on.  Line didn’t do much for him but still got 2 goal line TDs.

WR: Ugly game and hard to glean much from this one.  Baldwin average but mostly short stuff.  Honestly not sure if Kearse or Richardson is #2 right now.  Neither did much to win the job this game.  Stay away for now.

TE: Willson 1 catch.  Just stay away from TEs on this team.  No reason to ever assume they will do much.

OL: Run blocking was average and pass blocking was pretty shaky.  Certainly not their best game.

Def: Helped by bad QB play early.  Stopped bad running game cold.  Held WRs to very little.  Gave up a lot of short stuff to RB and TE.  Gave up huge game to TE.

Week 10 – vs NYG – W 38-17

QB: Wilson not great throwing but a huge game running.  D just didn’t adjust and he had his way.

RB: Lynch probably the biggest game of the season by non-QB.  Couldn’t be stopped and is on another level when he plays like this.  Michael also solid as line dominated for all.

WR: Not much passing needed.  Kearse made one big play and that was about it for WRs.  Baldwin a few catches but did little.  This will happen with a run-first team.

TE: Helfet one decent catch but nothing else.  Looks okay but can’t be used in fantasy.

OL: Dominated in run blocking.  Was blowing D off the line.  Average pass blocking.  Had QB scrambling on few drop backs.

Def: Stout against bad running team.  Good pass rush against weak O-line.  Gave up good games to WRs but held everything else in check.

Week 11 – @ KC – L 20-24

QB: Wilson a big game with rushing added.  D wasn’t really spying and let him run at will.  Solid passing.

RB: Lynch was unstoppable on first contact.  Just ran over D with some good blocking in front of him.

WR: Baldwin a big game getting a TD.  Kearse decent and nearly had TD.  Still hard to confidently use either, especially Kearse.

TE: Willson looked good and had decent game.  Would be a solid play on most other teams.

OL: Good game run blocking but struggled with pass rush.  QB scrambling saved them from looking bad on stat sheet.

Def: Limited passes against.  Got run on for a ton as O-line dominated defensive front.  Gave up monster to RB and little else.

Week 12 – vs Arizona – W 19-9

QB: Wilson a good game because of great rushing numbers.  Was rushed and hit a ton because of bad protection.  Hurt his passing numbers.

RB: Lynch held in check on the ground but had good game receiving.  Just too good when he gets a little space.

WR: A mess in this one.  No WR caught more than 2 balls.  Kearse and Baldwin just aren’t involved enough.  Should only be desperation plays.

TE: Helfet got a TD but little else.  Still can’t trust TE on this team.

OL: Awful pass protection.  Got QB hit a ton and lucky to have scrambler so it didn’t seem as bad as it was.  Bad run blocking against tough D as well.

Def: Excellent all-around.  Shutout #1 WR.  Shutdown great RB.  Gave up very little to all players.

Week 13 – @ SF – W 19-3

QB: Wilson rushed but scrambled out of it well.  Running game allowed him to not have to do too much.

RB: Lynch a big game again.  Just not going to be stopped if blocking continues like this.

WR: Very little.  Kearse and Baldwin just not much.  Have to come to expect it at this point.  No reason to trust.

TE: Willson average but still not usable.  Just not a big enough part of the offense.

OL: Good game all-around.  Looked a little better run blocking in this one.

Def: Great pass rush and helped by bad QB play.  Stout against the run.  Gave up no good games.  Covered WRs well.

Week 14 – @ Philadelphia – W 24-14

QB: Wilson another big game, especially on the ground.  Just a great option against a weak passing D since the rushing is becoming so consistent.

RB: Lynch another big game and another game where receiving was great.  Would have been a top 5 pick if anyone knew how involved he would be as a pass catcher.

WR: Baldwin another big game.  Helps to play defenses like this one.  Kearse average but looks really good at times.  Should be putting up better numbers.

TE: Nearly nothing against tough D.  Continue ignoring.

OL: Strong game against weak D.  Was a little shaky very early but was dominating as game went on.

Def: TOP dominated.  Held elite O to very little.  Gave up good games to TE and #1 WR.  Held everything else.

Week 15 – vs SF – W 17-7

QB: Wilson rushed and hit quite a bit.  Hurt by some key drops and didn’t play great.  Ran well.

RB: Lynch another big game and ran incredibly well.  A good run D just couldn’t tackle him.  Not slowing down at all.  Freakish right now.

WR: Baldwin okay.  Kearse a nice game but could have been really good if he had managed to come down with a couple more tough catches.  Still really like his ability.  Richardson a TD but still not that excited about him yet.

TE: Nothing.  Continue ignoring.

OL: Great run blocking against tough D.  Had a lot of trouble with the pass rush and let quite a few guys straight through the line at the snap.

Def: Pass rush and D was solid against weak passing attack.  Did get run on for a bit early but played well late.  Gave up good game to RB.  Decent games to 2 other RBs, one receiving.  Shutdown the rest.

Week 16 – @ Arizona – W 35-6

QB: Wilson another monster game with a ton of damage rushing along with the passing.  Just abused a bad D.

RB: Lynch a monster game on 10 touches.  Broke a long TD and looked like a superstar doing it.  He should be a star no matter where he’s playing next season.

WR: Baldwin another good game and is looking surprisingly more consistent lately.  Will still be hard to trust going into next season.  Richardson made some nice catches and had decent game.  Should be the #2 to start next season.

TE: Willson a monster game against some bad coverage.  Can’t expect this against stronger teams but proves how good he can be if they used the TE more in this offense.

OL: Pass protection was great but run blocking was deceiving considering stats.  Helped by QB scrambles and one big run.  Below-average other than those 2 plays.

Def: Helped by bad 3rd string QB play.  Lights out against the run.  Covered well but hardly mattered.  Gave up no good games.  Average games to WRs.

Week 17 – vs St. Louis – W 20-6

QB: Wilson pressured a ton and had bad game.  Didn’t run for anything as D contained well.  Tough match up.

RB: Lynch a good game and looked like his normal, dominant self.  Turbin a decent game sharing time in this one and looked solid but still not the workhorse Lynch can be,

WR: Richardson a nice game and made some good plays.  Looks skinny so might not really hold up as a full-time starter.  Baldwin an average game and just hard to trust, even with a decent match up.

TE: Willson did little and wasn’t targeted as much with run game dominating with lead.  Hard to judge him for future.

OL: Couldn’t handle pass rush but run blocking was a little better than expected.  Allowed the team to run when they needed it.

Def: Elite outing against a weak O.  Shutout run game.  Got thrown on for a bit more than usual but some timely luck kept things in check.  Gave up decent game to receiving RB.  Nothing else.
