Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ Jacksonville (London) – L 31-34

QB: Manuel terrible early and late.  A few good throws in the middle but the bad outweighed the good by far.  Horribly inaccurate and hit the opposing team in the chest more than once.  Awful pocket presence.

RB: McCoy looked great but numbers weren’t big.  O line missed a lot of blocks that failed to get him to the second level.  Could have been a monster game otherwise.

WR: Watkins DNP.  Woods a big game making a great TD grab.  Played tough and would be a stud if he played this well every week.  Hogan another nice PPR game.  Not a bad option if a starter is hurt.

TE: Clay held in check and didn’t get many looks.  QB play hurt and should be fine once Taylor is healthy.

OL: Not great and QB play made them look even worse.  Missed a lot of blocks in run game.  Pass blocking was average, at best.

Def: Trampled by the run.  Was getting blown off the line at times and lost the battle in the trenches badly.  QB play helped make passing game look good.  Still couldn’t stop good WRs.  Gave up big games to RB and WRs.  Held TEs to nearly nothing.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 6

Week 6 – vs Cincy – L 21-34

QB: Taylor DNP.  Manuel looked fine and played pretty well considering opponent.  A decent option if match up is good while Taylor is out.  Still a run first O no matter what.

RB: McCoy a good game and looked great as the work horse.  Moving well again and could be a stud as long as they aren’t losing.  Great situation for him.

WR: Watkins a good game but isn’t completely healthy.  Only a good play when they are going to lose.  His talent just doesn’t matter as much as the O.  Woods an average game but just can’t seem to put it together consistently.

TE: Clay a nice PPR game and continues to look really good.  Catching everything thrown at him right now and should continue to be PPR play.

OL: Playing well in run game and will dominate some games.  Pass protection is shaky at times but not the worst.

Def: Played worse against the run but better against the pass in this one.  Pass rush was nullified.  Wasn’t dominating up front against the run.  Gave up good games to total RBs, #2 WR and TE.  Continuing to get killed by secondary options in passing game.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 2

Week 2 – vs NE – L 32-40

QB: Taylor a big fantasy game but definitely some problems in this one.  Some bad throws and got sacked a ton.  Does protect himself fairly well on runs but has a long way to go right now, development-wise.

RB: McCoy looked good while Williams snagged another TD.  McCoy will continue to be workhorse but Williams is really interesting.  Has the size and speed to be a stud runner.  Might be one of the best handcuffs in the league.

WR: Watkins and Woods good games while Harvin was average.  Plenty of talent here but it’s going to be difficult to predict who will be the stud every week.  Add in to that a young and inexperienced QB and this is a headache.

TE: Clay nabbed a TD and will produce occasionally like this.  I wouldn’t expect any consistency.

OL: Good run blocking against weak run D.  Terrible pass protection.  Part of that is on young QB but they certainly had trouble with the blitz.

Def: Solid against the run but annihilated by passing game.  This will probably be most games for them against teams that can handle blitz.  Gave up monster games to receiving RB, TE, and #1 WR.  Good game to #2 WR.

Buffalo Bills Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 1

Week 1 – vs Indy – W 27-14

QB: Taylor was pretty good against weak D but didn’t have to do much.  Ran well and mostly protected himself.  Have to see how he handles more pressure before I’d buy into it.

RB: McCoy looked okay but line let him down at times.  Numbers suffered a bit because of that and running late with a big lead when D knows it’s coming.  Williams looked strong and got the longish TD.  Looks like a pretty powerful runner that knows how to find holes.

WR: Watkins blanketed by Davis and got zero.  Harvin a good game getting a nice long TD where he beat D deep and made great grab.  Hard to trust but might be more consistent in this situation.

TE: Clay looked okay but not going to put up enough numbers to warrant starting most of the time.  A solid player but not good enough for fantasy most of the time.

OL: Pretty good against weak D.  Missed some guys occasionally but will work that out as the season goes on.  Solid all-around in this one.

Def: A ton of blitzing and looked good doing it.  Brought 6 so many times.  Might be a little more susceptible to run this season but better against the pass.  Held elite O mostly in check.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 17 Fantasy Analysis

Week 17 – @ NYG – W 34-26

QB: Sanchez a good fantasy game but helped by receivers making plays.  Took some bad sacks a good QB wouldn’t have taken.  Should not be starting next season.

RB: McCoy another good game despite no TD and only 1 catch.  Still could be a stud if O-line is healthy next season.  Polk vultured a TD and looks decent but not an elite player.

WR: Matthews a big game and looked great.  Made a great run after the catch for his TD and looks like he’ll be very good next season.  Maclin an average game as other players starred.  He’ll be fine again if he returns.

TE: Ertz a decent game and seems to have become the focal point at TE again.  Could be better next season but ceiling is probably low with other stars in this offense.

OL: Strong game and definitely got better as game went on.  QB took sacks that were not their fault.  Run blocking getting back to elite status.

Def: Run D was decent but thrown on for a ton by elite passing O.  Can’t cover WRs, especially is Williams is not covering.  Gave up huge games to QB and WRs.  Good game to RB.  Held TE to little again.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 16 Fantasy Analysis

Week 16 – @ Washington – L 24-27

QB: Sanchez played much better but 2 costly TOs.  Made some great throws but some drops hurt.  Penalties killed team.

RB: McCoy a big game and was more involved in passing game.  He might be a steal next season if he falls into second round of drafts.  Sproles a good PPR game.  Still looks so fast when he gets room.

WR: Maclin and Matthews okay games but overshadowed by others who were targeted more.  Cooper a huge game getting 2 nice TD catches.  Still wouldn’t buy into him over Matthews.

TE: Ertz a huge PPR game and really played well.  May have been due to QB decision-making but he was making good plays and getting open.

OL: Strong game, especially run blocking against tough run D.  Still not dominating like last season but one of the better units in the league now.

Def: Pass rush was decent but not great.  Not great against the run.  Torched by long passes again.  Gave up good games to RBs and #1 WR.  Held TEs to little again.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 15 Fantasy Analysis

Week 15 – vs Dallas – L 27-38

QB: Sanchez was awful and very inaccurate.  Held the ball too long and took some unnecessary sacks.  Foles will be the starter when healthy.

RB: McCoy an okay game but got vultured 3 times by Polk and Sproles.  Just can’t justify taking him that early next season unless this seems to change before then.  Seems to be running too high at times as well.

WR: Maclin a good game because of one long play where he got stopped on the 1 yard line.  Wasn’t that great otherwise.  Matthews 1 bad drop and nothing else.  Chalk it up to QB.

TE: Celek outdid Ertz again but did lose a bad fumble.  Hard to use either right now and, unless one leaves, will be a mess again next season.

OL: Decent game but QB play made them look worse than they were.  Better than they were at the beginning of the season but not as good as last year.

Def: Obliterated.  Gave up monster games to #1 WR, QB, and RB.  Pass rush was irrelevant for most of the game and they couldn’t stop the stars.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 14 Fantasy Analysis

Week 14 – vs Seattle – L 14-24

QB: Lost TOP horribly.  Sanchez hit plenty.  Took what was given, which was little and didn’t really challenge D.

RB: McCoy average against tough D and caught zero passes again.  Starting to be ridiculous game planning on team’s part not getting him the ball on at least some screens or lining him up outside.

WR: Maclin a TD but little else.  Matthews and Cooper also shutdown.  TOP and QB’s fault more than WRs.

TE: Ertz a TD but still too erratic to trust.  Talent is there but not the targets and involvement.

OL: Shaky game against tough D.  Pass protection not good at all but run blocking was a little better than expected.  Still not close to last season.

Def: Bad everywhere again.  Run over by good run game and gave up plenty through the air to shaky passing game.  Gave up good games to QB, RB, and #1 WR.  Held TEs to little again.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 13 Fantasy Analysis

Week 13 – @ Dallas – W 33-10

QB: Sanchez a good game with rushing TD but didn’t have to do a ton through the air as running game dominated.  Played really well and was very accurate.

RB: McCoy a huge game but no catches.  Line is getting better every week and he is benefiting.  Polk some solid runs in relief time.

WR: Maclin and Matthews big games again.  Both could be monsters next season, especially Matthews with how fast he is progressing right now.

TE: Celek did little and Ertz did nothing.  Good match up and this production is terrible.  Wouldn’t use either for now.

OL: Getting better every week.  Pass protection was solid and run blocking is starting to dominate.

Def: Held good O in check mostly.  Covered receivers really well.  Gave up big game to RB and decent game to #1 WR.  Held everything else to really bad games, especially TE.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 12 Fantasy Analysis

Week 12 – vs Tennessee – W 43-24

QB: Sanchez a good game despite a few bad decisions.  Accuracy was pretty good, however.

RB: McCoy looked vintage and had huge game.  Still not catching a ton of passes but got the blocking and ran excellent.  Sproles vultured a TD but did little else.  Not enough touches to use in fantasy right now.

WR: Matthews and Maclin solid games and both are now must-starts at this point.  Matthews is looking better every week.

TE: Celek and Ertz decent again but TD went to third TE.  Celek playing really well and looks to be the better option for now.

OL: Strong game all-around.  Still shaky at times with the run blocking but getting better every week.

Def: Run D was strong but got thrown on for a ton.  Hit with a lot of big plays through the air.  Gave up good games to QB, TE, and #2 WR.  Held #1 WR in check.
