Buffalo Bills Week 12 Fantasy Analysis

Week 12 – vs NYJ – W 38-3

QB: Orton a decent game but his receivers made a ton of plays for him.  Made his numbers far better than he deserved.

RB: Dixon and Jackson both good games getting TDs against tough run D.  Dixon looks okay when he gets a little space and might be better with better match up.

WR: Woods a huge game and made some incredible catches.  Looked like a star in this game.  Watkins did little.  Have to assume D was focused on him, as would be expected by the Jets.

TE: Chandler got TD and had good game but, as I’ve been saying, he’s TD-dependent and shouldn’t be trusted.

OL: Pretty strong game against tough D-line.  Did enough to run the ball fairly well and kept QB clean.

Def: Pass rush was fantastic.  Got run on for a bit but pressure on passing game stopped the O.  No good games surrendered.  Would have been burned for long TD by #1 WR with better throw.

Buffalo Bills Week 11 Fantasy Analysis

Week 11 – @ Miami – L 9-22

QB: Orton was rushed and didn’t look great.  Bad fantasy game here.  As expected, struggled on the road against a tough D.

RB: Dixon got the most carries but did little.  Brown had nice PPR game.  Tough match up and they weren’t able to do much.  Brown does have some nice flashes but isn’t consistent.

WR: Hogan another good game leading the team in receiving.  Doesn’t possess a ton of obvious talent but starting to look very consistent and is similar to Hartline.  Watkins and Woods did little although QB missed a sure TD to Watkins on an overthrow.

TE: Nothing from Chandler.  Ignore.

OL: Struggled all game against tough D.  Couldn’t get anything going on the ground and got QB rushed all game.

Def: Had a decent pass rush but bad performance otherwise.  Wasn’t good against the run and got thrown on for plenty.  Gave up good games to virtually every position.  Really struggled with WRs except the #1.

Buffalo Bills Week 10 Fantasy Analysis

Week 10 – vs KC – L 13-17

QB: Orton an okay fantasy game but made a lot of bad throws.  Should have been a better game but he just didn’t play well.

RB: A mess in this one.  Dixon, Brown, and Jackson all split carries.  Jackson wasn’t healthy.  All had moments where they looked good although Brown lost a fumble on a sure TD.  Have to wait and see after Jackson is healthy.

WR: Hogan a big game getting a TD.  Watkins was injured and did little.  Woods had decent game as he got a lot of looks and mostly looked good.  Hogan could be a good possession guy but have to wait and see him more.

TE: Chandler did little.  Again, completely TD-dependent.

OL: Played fairly well against tough line.  Was opening holes for running game and did a okay job pass blocking although QB had to throw a few quick ones away.

Def: Front seven was great and pass rush looked elite in this one.  Hit QB a ton and gave him little time.  Got burned by a couple misdirection runs but was strong otherwise.  Gave up good games to RB and #1 WR.  Held everything else to little.

Buffalo Bills Week 8 Fantasy Analysis

Week 8 – @ NYJ – W 43-23

QB: Orton a huge game on only 10 completions.  Wasn’t getting much blocking but short field helped.  Was getting hit a bunch despite limited drop backs.

RB: Terrible as line was awful.  Dixon got the most work but did little as did Brown.  Was tough match up so have to wait and see for now but not excited about either.

WR: Watkins a huge game and would have been bigger if not for showboating.  Woods a good game because of TD.  Looking better lately and starting to step up.

TE: Chandler got a TD on his only catch.  Not usable.

OL: Awful.  Essentially got QB sacked 1 out of every 5 pass plays.  Opened nothing on the ground.  Got dominated up front.

Def: Looked great because of atrocious offense.  Got run on a bit and probably would have been worse if not for score.  Gave up big game to RBs and good PPR games to #1 WR and TE.

Buffalo Bills Week 7 Fantasy Analysis

Week 7 – vs Minnesota – W 17-16

QB: Orton a pretty strong game.  Got hit quite a bit but hung in and made some really good throws.  Most were short with a handful of intermediate stuff.  Had receivers make great plays on a couple longer completions.

RB: Jackson hurt and out a while.  Spiller hurt and on IR.  Dixon got the bulk of the work and looked okay.  More power but less speed than the others here.  Did catch some balls.

WR: Watkins an absolute monster in this game.  D couldn’t cover him at all.  Looking like a stud when he plays like this.  Hogan outperformed Woods and made a huge catch to help win the game.  Might be a better possession guy but have to wait and see.

TE: Chandler did little.  Still no reason to trust in fantasy.

OL: Shaky.  Run blocking was average and pass blocking not very good.  Got QB sacked quite a bit but survived.

Def: Bad QB play helped here.  Good pass rush and inaccuracy helped keep passing in check.  Got gashed by the run, especially outside runs.  Gave up good games to RB and WRs.  Held bad TEs to nothing.

Buffalo Bills Week 6 Fantasy Analysis

Week 6 – vs New England – L 22-37

QB: Orton had good fantasy game but some really bad throws.  Also, held the ball too long and took a bunch of unnecessary hits/sacks.

RB: Jackson a decent game because of goal line TD.  Spiller played bad, lost a fumble, and had fewer touches than Dixon, who didn’t do much better.  Line gave little room.

WR: Watkins was covered by Revis and did little.  Woods and Hogan had big games and looked very good here.  Hogan now #3 for this team.

TE: Chandler had big game, leading team in yards.  Will have these games but will always be a gamble since the consistency is not there.

OL: Not great, particularly run blocking.  Opened up very little for runners.  Pass blocking was better than numbers indicate.  Sacks were more on QB.

Def: Stopped the run completely.  Got torched through the air by WRs and TEs.  Pass rush did get to QB some but not enough to help DBs stop the attack.

Buffalo Bills Week 5 Fantasy Analysis

Week 5 – @ Detroit – W 17-14

QB: Orton stepped in and was fairly solid.  Looked pretty sharp on throws and handled pressure well.  Still wouldn’t trust him yet.

RB: Spiller did little while Jackson had good game with receiving added in.  Seemed to want to run outside with Spiller and inside with Jackson and this led to the difference in running numbers.  Think this evens out against different opponent.

WR: Watkins had good game.  Seems to be getting better every week right now but having ups and downs.  Other WRs did little.  Wouldn’t trust any others at the moment.

TE: Chandler okay but TD went to backup TE.  He’s irrelevant if he doesn’t get red zone looks.

OL: Decent game against tough front.  Was opening holes between the tackles but couldn’t stretch anything.  Pass blocking was decent considering D-line.

Def: A ton of sacks and did pretty good against the run.  Got torched by Tate but a hobbled Johnson only got 1 throw.  Held rest of team to very little.

Buffalo Bills Week 4 Fantasy Analysis

Week 4 – @ Houston – L 17-23

QB: Manuel was the victim of two key factors: O-line couldn’t handle pass rush and a ton of drops.  He’s far better than he is getting credit for.  Shouldn’t be benched because of this game.  Ridiculous decision by coaching staff.

RB: Spiller and Jackson both solid with Spiller getting more runs and Jackson more catches.  Spiller continues to look faster.

WR: Williams had long TD on blown coverage but had some awful drops.  Watkins was a drop machine but still got TD.  Woods looks really bad right now.  Wasn’t on same page with Manuel and may be running bad routes.

TE: Chandler wasn’t good.  As expected, he can’t be trusted.

OL: Terrible against pass rush.  Like most lines, couldn’t contain Watt.  Did okay job run blocking.

Def: Completely shutdown the run.  Pass rush wasn’t great and Fitzpatrick and WRs made some great plays.  Couldn’t cover Johnson and Hopkins.

Buffalo Bills Week 3 Fantasy Analysis

Week 3 – vs SD – L 10-22

QB: Manuel didn’t handle windy conditions well.  Made some good throws but overthrew a ton of balls.  Will have to get better on that.

RB: Jackson a big game receiving.  Spiller still looks like the #1.  Neither ran well because of shaky blocking.

WR: Watkins and Woods did little because of Manuel’s struggles.  Came close on quite a few balls but wind put them just out of reach.  Woods was getting a lot of looks.

TE: Chandler had a very nice game.  Wind forced a lot of check-downs.  Something to keep in mind for future.

OL: Run blocking was not great.  Looked like line was a little stacked at times.  Pass blocking was average.  Got QB rushed quite a bit.

Def: Very good against the run.  Held Brown to 2 YPC on 31 carries.  Pass rush was okay but not great.  Coverage was pretty good mostly.  Held Allen in check.

Buffalo Bills Week 2 Fantasy Analysis

Week 2 – vs Miami – W 29-10

QB: Manuel continues to impress.  Didn’t have to do a whole lot but made some good throws down field.  Was finding an open Watkins all game.  Just not making mistakes.

RB: Miami stacked the line all game to stop the run.  Spiller busted one long run and had a KR TD.  Jackson didn’t do much.  Line couldn’t open holes against stacked front.

WR: Watkins had a monster game.  Was getting open easily and played hurt.  Could see him hurting every time he got hit.  Woods disappointed.

TE: Chandler is TD dependent.  Can’t be trusted week-to-week.

OL: Faced a stacked line and couldn’t open running lanes.  Did pass block extremely well, picking up blitzes nicely.  Gave Manuel plenty of time.

Def: Pass rush was great.  Run D was average.  Gave up a lot of receptions but all short stuff.  Nothing deep and nothing behind them.
