Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 6

Week 6 – @ Cleveland – W 26-23

QB: Manning looked like a below-average QB in this one.  Made bad decisions on top of terrible throws.  Just awful in this one.  Have to be scared about him.

RB: Hillman and Anderson split a lot of touches and this is the first game where Hillman clearly looked like the better player.  They will still split touches but Hillman may pull away if this continues.

WR: Thomas and Sanders big games with Thomas getting the volume and Sanders the big play.  Thomas had a few bad drops in this one despite the good game.  O just isn’t clicking on all cylinders right now.

TE: Daniels did little and no reason to believe in him.  Would ignore for now.

OL: Great run blocking game and strong pass protection against weaker D.  Still not buying into them yet but game was a good sign.  They weren’t the problem in this one.

Def: Continues to be elite.  Solid against the run but not elite there.  Awesome against the pass.  Seems like receivers had to make great plays just to get routine balls.  Gave up good games to #1 WR and TE.

Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 5

Week 5 – @ Oakland – W 16-10

QB: Manning a bad game and looked like a below average QB in this one.  A few inexplicable throws.  Took a few more hits than normal.  Just a terrible game by his standards.

RB: Shutdown again by bad D.  Blocking is too awful to use any RB here.  Anderson and Hillman look like the same player so no difference in talent.  The RB doesn’t matter.  No one could put up numbers behind this blocking.

WR: Sanders a good game and looks like a #1 right now with the plays he is making.  Thomas an average game and just couldn’t break anything big.  Was contained well by the D.

TE: Daniels got zero but was targeted in the end zone.  Impossible to trust if he couldn’t do anything with this match up.

OL: Killing this team, especially the run game.  Can’t get a runner past the LOS most of the time, regardless of the D.  Got QB hit more than normal in this one.  Makes this team barely better than average.

Def: Continues to look fantastic.  Lights out against the run.  Covered star WRs well.  Pass rush was solid.  One of the best right now.  Gave up good game to receiving RB.

Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 1

Week 1 – vs Baltimore – W 19-13

QB: Manning had more trouble with the pressure than usual.  Hopefully, it was just rust.  Throws weren’t all that bad but certainly a little more off than normal for him.  I’d still trust him.

RB: Anderson and Hillman shut down by good D.  Probably a symptom of them playing against Kubiak’s team from last season.  Not overly worried at this point.

WR: Thomas and Sanders decent but not great.  Both had moments and both should be very good going forward.

TE: Daniels disappointing in this one.  Really expected more and not sure I would be too sure of him just yet.  Need to see something from him first.

OL: Not great at all.  Wasn’t handling pass rush well and couldn’t open holes for ground game.  Hopefully, will be stronger against weaker teams but definitely a concern worth watching.

Def: O dominating TOP helped keep numbers against very low.   Pass rush is particularly good.  Gave up no good games.  Looks like a potential lock-down type of D judging from this game.

Baltimore Ravens Week 17 Fantasy Analysis

Week 17 – vs Cleveland – W 20-10

QB: Flacco ugly early but played well late and ended with a good fantasy game.  Not sure his erratic play is ever going to change.

RB: Forsett another big game and looked great.  Proved he should be a starter somewhere next season and that he can handle the full workload.

WR: Torrey and Steve good games with Torrey getting a TD.  They work well as compliments to each other.  Hope this tandem returns next season.

TE: Daniels an average game.  Just isn’t going to be used when other options are working so well.

OL: Really strong game all-around.  Did a very good job with the run blocking.

Def: Bad QB play helped.  Pass rush great again.  Helped shutdown passing game.  Did get run on for more than expected.  Gave up big game to RB.  Nothing else.

Baltimore Ravens Week 16 Fantasy Analysis

Week 16 – @ Houston – W 25-13

QB: Flacco was awful as pass rush hit him at will.  Terrible blocking scheme.

RB: Forsett held to nearly nothing.  Limited touches but D was all over him.

WR: Torrey a huge game with 2 TDs but not a lot else.  Steve an okay game but still not getting the targets he was getting earlier.

TE: Daniels 1 catch.  Still hard to trust, especially in bad match ups.

OL: Simply terrible.  Should all give their weekly salaries to QB for this game.  They did nothing good.

Def: Helped by bad QB play but couldn’t stop the run.  Pass rush just wasn’t doing enough.  Gave up good game to RB.  Decent game to #2 WR.

Baltimore Ravens Week 15 Fantasy Analysis

Week 15 – vs Jacksonville – W 20-12

QB: Flacco an okay game and should have been better.  Had some drops that hurt.

RB: Forsett held in check against hot D.  Didn’t get much room from line and wasn’t involved in passing game at all.  Should be fine but will struggle in tough match ups.

WR: Both Smiths held in check and did little.  Were contained well by D as #3 WR took spotlight.

TE: Daniels a big game and the only player that really looked good in this one.  Still hard to know when others won’t be involved and he gets the looks.

OL: Pass protection was good but run blocking was awful.  Gave no room to RBs.

Def: Helped by bad O.  Still didn’t look particularly good.  Not covering WRs well.  Gave up decent games to WRs.  Nothing else.

Baltimore Ravens Week 14 Fantasy Analysis

Week 14 – @ Miami – W 28-13

QB: Flacco a huge game, adding a rushing TD.  Played really well and showed good accuracy.

RB: Forsett another good game and ran really well behind good blocking.  Showing he deserves to stay the starter and get a full load next season.

WR: Torrey played hurt and did nothing.  Steve and Aiken both good games.  Aiken looks decent but nothing to get overly excited about.

TE: Daniels did little.  Tough match up.

OL: Great game all-around against good D on the road.  Really impressive how much better this line is from last season.

Def: Contained everything really well.  No big plays surrendered.  Solid effort.  Gave up decent games to #2 WR and RB.  Held everything else to little.

Baltimore Ravens Week 13 Fantasy Analysis

Week 13 – vs SD – L 33-34

QB: Flacco a big game with the rushing TD added.  Took his shots and his receivers made some plays.  Probably could have used a few more shorter throws to move the chains.

RB: Forsett another good game.  Looks great running it because of his vision and patience and gets very good blocking at times.

WR: Torrey a big game looking like a stud lately.  Finally getting more trust from his QB it looks.  Steve did little and clearly falling off at this point.  Aiken or Brown might be next in line.

TE: Daniels did little and continues to not do enough for fantasy purposes.

OL: Great run blocking in this one against weak D.  Continues to be incredibly better than last season.  Solid pass protection.

Def: Average against the run.  Torched through the air.  Got burned at every level by the pass.  Gave up monster to QB and #1 WR.  Good games to RB, TE, and other WRs.

Baltimore Ravens Week 12 Fantasy Analysis

Week 12 – @ NO – W 34-27

QB: Flacco an average game as rushing attacked dominated.  Didn’t need to do much but still hit a few big plays.

RB: Forsett a monster game and looked great behind some very good blocking.  Pierce hit one big play then nothing else.  Still a wide gap in talent between the two.

WR: Both Smith’s had good games with Steve getting a great TD grab with good coverage.  Torrey looked especially good in the open field and should be getting more short throws like this to make plays with his speed and agility.

TE: Daniels did little.  Can’t expect much when run game takes over.

OL: Excellent run blocking and good pass protection against overrated D.

Def: Run D was stout except for one WR run.  Got thrown on for a ton but pass rush was very good against weak line.  Gave up big games to QB, WRs, and TE.

Baltimore Ravens Week 10 Fantasy Analysis

Week 10 – vs Tennessee – W 21-7

QB: Flacco was average but didn’t need to do a lot because of running game.  Was rushed a ton as line had trouble with blitz and D-line.

RB: Forsett a monster game getting a couple longer TDs instead of goal line stuff being vultured.  Really looks like a stud right now and is handling heavy load well.  Pierce looked okay but still a talent gap there.

WR: Torrey a big game catching a long TD and some decent catches along with that during the game.  Starting to be a little more consistent.  Steve did little more due to lead.

TE: Daniels did little.  Just not enough targets to go around in this one.

OL: Very good run blocking but struggled against the pass rush.  A little shaky picking up blitzers.

Def: Pass rush was excellent.  Good job holding struggling run game in check but did give up some chunks here and there.  Gave up decent game to RB and #1 WR.  Held everything else in check as TE (Walker) was injured early.
