Denver Broncos Week 2 Fantasy Analysis

Week 2 – vs KC – W 24-17

QB: Manning was great as expected.  Most of his few incompletions were drops.

RB: Ball and Anderson both looked okay but blocking was rough.  Middle was clogged most of the game.  Broke a couple runs but kind of tough sledding for the most part.

WR: Thomas and Sanders both very good.  No other WR caught a pass.  Caldwell had a bad drop early then never saw another throw.  Welker will open things up again.

TE: Thomas good again.  Tamme also got an easy goal line TD.  Nothing new here.

OL: Run blocking was worse than numbers indicated.  Didn’t handle interior D line very well.  Same with pass rush.  A little bit of a bad performance.

Def: Drew a ton of penalties.  Didn’t stop much.  Lost TOP badly.  Gave up big games to back up RB Davis and combined TEs.  Did okay job on average WRs.

Denver Broncos Week 1 Fantasy Analysis

Week 1 – vs Indy – W 31-24

QB: Manning could have been better but had quite a few drops by WRs.  Got hit a little more than usual.  That can’t continue.  Otherwise, still elite.

RB: Ball was the workhorse but didn’t really break anything big.  Blocking didn’t do much for him.  Not a great receiving game either.

WR: Thomas had some uncharacteristic drops that led to bad game.  Caldwell also dropped some.  Sanders was big very early then cooled off.  Big lead and TE kept these guys from better games as well.

TE: Thomas had 3 TDs and looked great even ignoring those.  Not sure Indy game-planned for him.  At least, that is what it looked like.

OL: Didn’t look as good as last season.  Wasn’t great run blocking and showed some cracks against the Indy pass rush.  Will probably be better but worth noting for now.

Def: Big lead led to few carries against.  Looked average against the run.  Couldn’t cover all the weapons for Indy as Luck kept finding someone open.  Pass rush was okay but definitely far from elite.
