Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ Detroit – W 28-19

QB: Bridgewater a good game but line continues to struggle in protection.  Is extremely accurate when he gets time.  Team needs to figure out how to keep him up.

RB: Peterson a good game and is still the best pure runner in the league.  Line did nothing for him as most of his yards came on one play.

WR: Diggs another big game and made incredible catch on TD.  Looks legit and is definitely the Charles Johnson of this season for this team.  Wallace hald in check but will be fine as Diggs opens things up for him.

TE: Rudolph a TD but little else.  Worth the gamble most weeks but it appears his ceiling is incredibly low.  Will probably have to block more and more if line play doesn’t get better quick.

OL: Awful.  Couldn’t run block and protection was awful.  Would be a very explosive offense if this was even a decent unit instead of a terrible one.

Def: Pass rush dominated.  Was crushing O line.  Wasn’t great against the run or in coverage.  Was getting beat for 50/50 balls by great receivers.  Gave up good games to #1 WR and TE.

Washington NFL Franchise Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – vs TB – W 31-30

QB: Cousins a huge game against a terrible passing D.  Wasn’t rushed much and picked apart D with ease.  Not going to happen against better teams.

RB: Jones a barely average game.  Runs were limited due to early deficit.  Looked decent but line still needs improvement.

WR: Garcon an okay game but didn’t get enough looks.  Grant got TD but nothing to trust there.  Crowder another decent PPR game and should continue doing that.  Lesser version of Welker-type player.

TE: Reed returned and had huge game.  Looked awesome and made great plays on the ball.  No reason it won’t continue as long as he’s healthy.

OL: Did little for run game on limited carries.  Protected well against weaker D.  Still nothing to get excited about.

Def: Blown away.  Trampled by run game and gave up plenty to receivers.  Coverage just terrible as usual.  Pass rush was irrelevant.  Gave up big games to RB and #1 WR.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ Washington – L 30-31

QB: Winston a good game but wasn’t overly accurate.  Receivers made plays for him.  Does seem to be progressing pretty well.  Just needs targets to stay/get healthy.

RB: Martin another big game and is looking great right now.  Came against tough match up and he gashed the D.  Line is giving him space and he is killing.  Sims okay game but is no threat to Martin.

WR: Jackson injured early.  Evans a huge game and looks fully healthy.  Made some great plays on the ball and looked like the player from last season.

TE: Seferian-Jenkins should be back soon.  No one else matters for fantasy.

OL: Great game in fairly tough match up.  Handled good pass rush all game long.  Run blocking was excellent.  Open up just enough for runners to exploit D.

Def: Run D was solid but early lead limited attempts against.  Torched by the pass again.  Really wasn’t covering anything.  O was finding holes in coverage all game.  Gave up huge game to TE.  Decent games to WRs.

Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ KC – L 13-23

QB: Jones came down to earth and had bad game.  Wasn’t accurate and made some terrible reads.  Lucky to have elite targets to help him get the numbers he did get.

RB: Bell a good game despite being underused.  Should have got more carries.  Just amazing patience and vision.

WR: Brown and Bryant good games and only need the ball to be close to them to get their numbers.  Both make great plays when given the chance.  Must-starts, especially when Ben returns.

TE: Miller shutout.  Will be better when Ben gets back.  Wouldn’t be worried.

OL: Played well against tough front.  QB play hurt.  Was making good holes for run game.  Protected pretty well considering match up.

Def: Run on for plenty.  Got dominated by O line.  Not much of a pass rush.  Wasn’t covering non-elite receivers well.  Gave up good games to everybody.

Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – vs Pittsburgh – W 23-13

QB: Smith a usual game for him.  Not great, not terrible.  Nothing new to see here.

RB: West a huge game and looked great behind good blocking.  Runs really well and allows blockers to do work.  Showed great vision and kept falling forward.

WR: Maclin DNP.  Conley a big game and looked okay but nothing stellar.  Wilson a decent game and shows flashes if he is used correctly.  Could be a lesser version of Landry if they wanted to involve him like that.

TE: Kelce a nice game and continues to be great when they give him targets.  Makes great plays even when the throw isn’t great.

OL: Excellent game, especially on the ground.  Was opening big holes for runners.  Held their blocks well.  Protection was just as good.

Def: Torched by stars.  Helped by third stringer at QB.  Wasn’t stopping elite runner.  Couldn’t cover elite WRs as usual.  Gave up good games to all but TE.  All WRs should be started against.

Miami Dolphins Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – vs Houston – W 44-26

QB: Tannehill a huge game and did so despite running game dominating.  Only 1 incomplete and it was a drop.  Still took some hits and sacks but played amazing otherwise.

RB: Miller a monster game doing it both on the ground and as a receiver.  One of the better runners in the league when he gets space.  Runs well in traffic with his good vision.  Should continue getting a ton of touches.

WR: Landry another huge game and will continue to dominate.  Is just incredible after the catch and they are making sure he gets the ball with space.  Matthews a good game although his long TD came on mistake by safety.  Still think he’ll get shutdown by elite coverage.

TE: Cameron did little but only 2 throws.  Will be better when WRs aren’t dominating.

OL: Great game run blocking.  Just blew away D.  Had some trouble with Watt but was strong in protection otherwise.

Def: Good against the run but elite RB still got his numbers.  Covered #1 WR well.  Pass rush was stronger than it’s been.  Gave up monster games to #2 WR and RB.

Houston Texans Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ Miami – L 26-44

QB: Hoyer a good game despite some drops and not throwing it overly well.  Has good enough weapons to make it continue.

RB: Foster a huge game but injured and on IR.  Not sure who I would trust now.  Polk could easily beat out Blue.  Grimes could be good PPR option.  Would like Grimes the most if he won the job.

WR: Hopkins held in check by good coverage.  Average numbers for him.  Wasn’t able to make plays.  Washington returned and had monster game.  Looked very good and could be good option when elite CB is on Hopkins.

TE: Dropped everything thrown their way.  Ignore.

OL: Had trouble with D line, especially in protection.  Run blocking not good either.  Just a bad game overall.

Def: Annihilated.  Just trounced by the run game.  Can’t stop the run at all.  Torched by a bunch of big plays in passing game.  Can’t cover anybody or tackle once they make the catch and run.  Gave up monster to RB and #1 WR.  Good game to #2 WR.

New York Jets Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – @ NE – L 23-30

QB: Fitzpatrick another good game and is playing great.  Not just managing games but making good throws and decisions.  Not a bad option in match ups like this.

RB: Ivory a good game because of a receiving TD but was held in check on the ground.  Just couldn’t bust anything remotely big.  Stacy continues to look sneaky good as a backup.  Running with a totally different and better style now.

WR: Marshall covered well and dropped a TD.  An okay game but should have gotten a few more throws.  Decker a good game and continues to be very underrated.

TE: Still nothing going on here.  Ignore.

OL: Not a great game.  Opened almost nothing for run game.  Couldn’t stop push on pass rush.  Got backed up and allowed pocket to collapse too fast here.

Def: O didn’t try to run.  Torched by elite passing game.  Covered #1 WR well.  Covered nothing else.  Gave up big games to #2 WR and TE.

New England Patriots Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – vs NYJ – W 30-23

QB: Brady awesome again.  Line got him hit a few times but nothing to worry about.

RB: Lewis DNP.  Brady had the most yards and carries.  All that needs to be said.

WR: Edelman held in check by good CB.  Amendola a big game with Edelman getting the attention.  Made some great catches in this one.  Lafell returned and dropped at least 4 balls.  Will probably get another chance but definitely on a very short leash now.

TE: Gronk a huge game and dominant in this one.  Was not covered well and still made plays when he was.  Unstoppable.

OL: Wasn’t great on very limited runs.  Allowed pass rush to get through a little but nothing devastating.  Playing solid.

Def: Run D pretty strong in this one.  Bent a few times but never broke.  Pass rush not great but knocked a lot of balls down.  Coverage okay at best.  Gave up good game to #2 WR and RB because of receiving TD.

St. Louis Rams Fantasy Football Analysis – Week 7

Week 7 – vs Cleveland – W 24-6

QB: Run game dominated.  Foles did little.  Nothing too bad, nothing too good.  Probably an expected outcome for him when run game is so dominant.

RB: Gurley a monster game and just killed the D.  Got good blocking but also did a lot getting extra yards for himself.  Good vision and escape ability.

WR: Run game dominated.  Britt and Austin average games.  Same story as QB.  Quick did get one long play negated by penalty.  Still worth keeping an eye on for the time being.

TE: Cook did little.  Same story as other receivers.

OL: Helped run game dominate.  Was okay in pass protection but was so dominant in run blocking that it didn’t matter.

Def: Front looked great again and shut down run game.  Pass rush was excellent.  Coverage on shorter stuff was not.  Gave up good games to receiving RB and TE.
